Statistics

INTRODUCTION

One of the key strengths of statistics is their ability to reveal trends over time. By analyzing patterns and changes in data, statistics allow us to:

  • Understad the status quo – They provide a clear picture of where things currently stand.

  • Predict future outcomes – Trends give us insights into where things are heading, even if no action is taken.

  • Identify areas for improvement – By highlighting negative or positive trends, they show where intervention may be needed.

  • Evaluate the impact of changes – If action is taken, comparing new data with historical trends can help determine its effectiveness.

In essence, "doing nothing" is a choice with measurable consequences, and statistics provide the evidence of what those consequences might be.
